Character Farmhouse -Two Gites in the Hautes Pyrenees
DESIGNED WITH YOU IN MIND
Two character holiday homes within a farmhouse which are new to the market in 2016 following extensive renovation by the current owners. Both gites provide accommodation designed to a high specification while keeping the charm and character you would expect when staying in a 19th Century French farmhouse in the Hautes Pyrenees.
Each gite has a secured private entrance and courtyard/garden providing ample space to enable you to make the most of outdoor living and dining, and convenient parking for your vehicles.
Both self-catering properties are extremely well equipped with comfortable beds, high spec shower rooms, flat screen TVs, Freesat UK TV and French TV, satellite broadband, Bose ipod docking stations and kitchens which allow you to cook as much or as little as you want.
Outside both gites have their own secure gardens with private entrance gates, ensuring safe environments for your children and pets. Each gite comes with outside dining, sun loungers and BBQs.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LOCAL AREA
The hiking and walking in the Pyrenees and local area are superb, whatever your ability, with enormous scope for bird and wildlife watching, or foraging for wild berries, nuts and mushrooms.
The highest Tour de France climbs in the Pyrenees are close by and a must for all keen cyclists. Slightly further north, the landscape softens and flattens into less challenging but nonetheless breathtaking cycling routes.
Local caves at Esparros and Labastide are an essential visit for anyone holidaying in the area.
There are seven ski resorts within one hour's drive of Maison des Fleurs including Saint Lary which is a 25 minute drive away.
For relaxation, there are spas and thermal treatment centres within easy reach, some nestled within local ski resorts for a relaxing apres-ski spa and massage.
Local markets take place every day of the week, one of the closest is a weekly food and drink market on a Sunday in La Barthe-De-Neste.
The larger towns of Lourdes, Pau and Tarbes are easily accessible for a full or half day trip. Or, why not pop over the border to Spain for lunch (50 mins) or head off for a trip to Biarritz, St Jean de Luz or San Sebastian for a day on the beach or some surfing?
